Doorways is described as a game of horrifying deception where nothing is what it seems and everything is out to get you. There are few details about the plot since part of the appeal lies in gradually uncovering it but overall it appears similar to adventure games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, always meant as a compliment since it's far from a mere copy cat without merit.
